  • Ketamine Recall Update: Butorphanol is not affected by the expanded ketamine recall. Go to AVMA for more details along with list of recalled lot numbers.

  • 2010 Membership Dues may be paid via the SCAV website.
    • Go to www.scav.org and click on the Members tab.
    • A login page will appear requiring you to enter a login and password.
    • Enter your email address in the login box and then the word password in the password box, unless you have logged in earlier this month and changed password to something else of your choice. If this is the case, use the edited password.
    • Another page will appear with a drop down box asking what you would like to do.
    • You may select Join/Renew Membership dues.
    • At the next screen, hit renew and Paypal.
    • At the Paypal screen, you may click on continue. You don’t need to log into a Paypal account unless you have one with funds available in it.

  • SCAV Membership includes discounted registration to conferences, complimentary registration to six-hour March 21st Academy meeting, complimentary registration to the six-hour October 24th Academy meeting, discounted registration to the Fall Large Animal Academy meeting, which will be combined with the October Small Animal Academy and held in Greenville.

The South Carolina Association of Veterinarians (SCAV), established in 1911, is a not-for-profit association representing veterinarians.


The objectives of the Association shall be to advance the science and art of veterinary medicine by providing opportunities for professional education and development and by enhancing the relationships between veterinarians, agriculture, pet owners, government and the public at large; and to protect the public health by promoting proper involvement in human and animal health care by the veterinary profession.

SCAV provides a number of benefits to its members, including information resources, continuing education opportunities and quality publications.
